Around here I wear a lot of hats: web designer, writer, hypnotherapist, audio engineer, image editor, ect.

Yup. I do it all. But none of it would be possible without some key gear.

So here’s the list of what tools,  software, and gear I use to help me create both my hypnosis blog and my hypnosis audios.

If you are putting something together online yourself I hope it helps!

Website Stuff

Domain Name purchase: I have used NameCheap, GoDaddy, and Bluehost. I like NameCheap for cost, and BlueHost for ease since my site is currently also hosted at BlueHost

Hosting: BlueHost

Website Blogging Backend/Content Management: free 1-click install of WordPress to my BlueHost domain. (same avail. at GoDaddy)

WordPress Premium Theme: Catalyst Theme (catalysttheme.com) This theme ROCKS if you want real control over your design without needing to code anything. Their Support Forum is the best online. Most questions are answered in less than 24 hours. I seriously could not live without these guys!

There are lots of other free and premium (pay for) WordPress Themes you can use. Just search and find one you like. Thesis Theme is another good one for blogging. More simple than Catalyst. But very clean and easy to use.

Email List Management: Aweber

Hardware

Computer: 15inch Macbook Pro

Microphone: Blue Microphone’s Yeti USB Mic

Videos & Photos: Webcam on my Macbook Pro, or iPhone 4S.

Software

Photos: Photoshop. Gimp is also a great free option.

Video Editing: iMovie

Screen Capture Videos: Screencast (mac only)

Hypnosis Audios: recording, editing, & mixing – all on GarageBand

Other Stuff

Live Video Webinars: LiveStream Pro

File Sharing: Audio files are large and many email settings won’t allow them to come into a person’s inbox. For my customized hypnosis audio files I use a file sharing service called YouSendit. The hypnosis audios for download and purchase on my site are handled through e-junkie.com.

Payments: I don’t want the hassle or concern of having access to everyone’s personal information, so I leave it to the experts at PayPal to process payments.

Background Music: my favorite selections come from my friend Leigh at http://www.psimatix.com I also use http://www.royaltyfreemeditationmusic.com.

Photos: Many are Creative Commons licensed photos I find on Flickr.com and around the web. Some I purchase at iStock.com. Others I take, or friends take.

Telephone Calls: Skype, or my cell phone. And sometimes Skype ON my cell phone :)

Video Calls: Skype or Facetime
